HUNTING WILDLIFE IDENTIFICATION CHALLENGE

COURSE

​

-Participants or teams will walk through a field and/or woodland course in a natural setting. The course is designed to simulate actual wildlife sign encounters while outdoors.

-Participants will observe North American game animal tracks, mounted (game or non-game) animals, and reading and identifying wildlife signs. All specimens can be hunted or trapped somewhere in North America.

-Wildlife will constitute mounted or tanned hides, depending upon availability. Animal tracks may be original or molds made of prints. Other wildlife signs may be real or reproduced.

-No wildlife identification books, encyclopedias or other written, taped or transcribed material can be used in this activity. No talking will be allowed between the participants and instructors or other participants while on the course.
